When sterling silver comes into contact with oxygen at a certain concentration, and high humidity, an oxidation process begins, which is reflected in the jewel’s blackening.
Our body also contains and emits sweat, moisture and acidity. Everyone at different levels. And so the same piece of jewelry, one person will blacken and the other will not.
Your silver dishes will always be stained and it is always annoying to wear a necklace or bracelet stained with silver black spots.
We all have the same problem and I will give you 5 tips with groceries that you all have at home cleaning your silver jewelry.
1. Aluminum Foil
Boil in water pot, with half a cup of baking soda put in sheets of aluminum foil, let the silverware for 10 minutes.
Collect them with tongs.
2. Laundry Detergent
Place a medium sized bowl and fill it with warm water.
Put in half a cup of powdered laundry detergent, add small pieces of aluminum foil to the bowl, stir for 3 minutes and pick up the jewels.
3. Cornstarch
Make an ointment of cornstarch and water, take a towel and start rubbing, it just comes out amazing!
4. Vinegar
Prepare 5% vinegar cup with 2 tablespoons of baking soda, set your jewelery for two hours.
wash with warm water and you will be surprised by the result the vinegar does.
5. lemon juice
Prepare mixtures of half a cup of milk and half a cup of water and a quarter cup of lemon juice.
Soak the jewelry for the night.
There are many more ways to clean silver with materials that cost a lot of money, or take the jewelry to a professional.
